Before the sun comes up and while most others are still asleep, the early birds of the world are getting things started in the morning. Some work early morning shifts, while others simply prefer to do their work in the relatively quiet and still pre-dawn hours.

If you’re an early riser who prefers working by sunrise over working a typical 9 to 5 schedule, AND you also prefer to work and make your living remotely, there is a diverse array of options available to you.

So, here is a list of great remote income ideas you can start by daybreak, for all you larks out there:

Virtual Assistant

Description: Assist companies of all types by performing administrative tasks – email triage, scheduling, booking, data entry, client support. Many clients want assistance first thing in the morning, to help set up the day ahead.

Education/Experience: Low barrier – no degree required, and a high school diploma is usually sufficient, but administrative experience is helpful. Good organizational skills, and familiarity with office software is also a big plus.

Personality type: Organized, detail-oriented, people who enjoy routines, supportive roles, and are comfortable with multitasking – if heavy phone calls are involved, then best for extraverts.

Customer Support (Early Shifts)

Description: Companies of all sizes and types need agents to provide friendly support. Live chat, email, and phone support to clients and customers of the company. Morning shifts are often calmer than later shifts.

Education/Experience: Entry level to mid-level customer service experience is helpful, strong communication skills are important. No degree is generally required.

Description: Voice over work involves using your own voice to record audio for various types of media; such as audiobooks, commercials, educational videos, video games, apps, and more; typically using a script. Mornings are good for quiet, focused recordings, and people’s voices are usually clearest then, as well.

Education/Experience: No particular education is needed, but experience in performing arts and public speaking are highly beneficial, and voice acting classes can also help.

Personality type: Great for those who are emotionally intelligent and convey feeling through their voices well, who are adaptable to the widely differing needs of lots of jobs, who are enthusiastic, confident, reliable, and focused.
