With war unfolding as Russia invades Ukraine, you may be wondering how you can help. No one can singlehandedly stop the war, but there are several simple things that anyone can do right now to help people in Ukraine who very much need it.

Here are good organizations you can contribute to, which can help:

Red Cross – International and Ukrainian

The Red Cross is a worldwide, highly respected organization which provides assistance and relief to people facing all kinds of disaster situations. Contributions to either the International Committee of the Red Cross, or the Ukraine Red Cross – or both, if you can; will bring urgently needed assistance to people in Ukraine.

International Rescue Committee

International Rescue Committee provides critical aid to people affected by war and disaster worldwide, and works to help stabilize countries. Contributions to International Rescue Committee can help provide urgently needed aid and supplies to people affected and displaced by war in Ukraine, and elsewhere.

UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund, popularly known as UNICEF, provides assistance and protection to children in crisis, and vulnerable children around the world. They are also one of the world’s most respected charities. Contributions to UNICEF can help children in need in Ukraine, and throughout the world.

Nova Ukraine

Nova Ukraine is a nonprofit dedicated to providing assistance to the most vulnerable people in Ukraine – including people with disabilities, orphaned children, and financially disadvantaged families. Contributions to Nova Ukraine can be made in the form of a monetary donation, donation of supplies, or volunteering to pick up supplies from San Francisco Bay Area donors and bring them to Sacramento, CA.

Revived Soldiers Ukraine

Revived Soldiers Ukraine provides medical and humanitarian aid to soldiers and their families, as well as people living in conflict zones. They also work to promote awareness about human rights worldwide. Contributions can be made here.

United Help Ukraine

United Help Ukraine also provides medical supplies and humanitarian aid to people living in conflict zones, or displaced by conflict. Contributions can be made here.

International Medical Corps

International Medical Corps is a global first responder in providing mobile medical units in Ukraine, and where needed throughout the world. Contributions can be made here.

Voices of Children

Voices of Children provides psychological care to children affected by war, to help them cope with the trauma. Contributions can be made here.
