Spend Time With People Who Ask You Questions You Don’t Think to Ask Yourself

By Rachel Puryear

In life, most of us want to get better at something – be it relationships, careers, health, lifestyle, and more. For people who are curious and creative, we relish new ideas, and are happy to share them with others. However, we need to also make a point of listening to – and for – ideas from others. We cannot possibly think of everything by ourselves.

Of course, we all enjoy hanging out with people who we can relax with, and feel comfortable around. That’s perfectly normal. At the same time, though, it’s also important to have people in your social circle who will challenge you more – people who will ask you the kind of questions you aren’t thinking to ask yourself.

Is there someone you know, who, every time you talk to them, you come away with new ideas and inspiration? Someone who not only listens, but also asks you tough questions? Someone who really makes you think through your goals and how they will work in action? Whether they are one of your favorite people or not, make a point of nonetheless spending some time with them. The insight and challenges you will get alone is worthwhile.

Thank you, dear readers, for reading, following, and sharing. Here’s to healthy challenges, and questions that make you think.
