Eaton Park in San Carlos, California
By Rachel Puryear
If you enjoy hilltop vistas and beautiful panoramic views, then check out this lesser-known park in San Carlos, California.
It’s truly a hidden local gem!

This park is also less crowded than many other nearby parks. Hiking around sunrise or sunset is rewarded with seeing gorgeous lighting over the lush surrounding hills.

For more about visiting this park, see here. Note that this park is rather small and on the rustic side – no bathrooms or picnic areas. It’s also not very accessible, and while you don’t need to be in great shape to hike the trails, there are a few steep steps in some areas that could be challenging for some people. A walking stick is recommended in those spots if your balance is a bit challenged.
There is also no parking lot, so you can just park in the neighborhood.
