Remote Income Ideas for Extraverts

By Rachel Puryear

Previously, a post entitled “Remote Income Ideas for Introverts” suggested several income possibilities for introverts. This post was quite well received.

Accordingly, this post will discuss great remote income possibilities for extraverts!

If you’re an extravert, then wanting to work remotely doesn’t necessarily mean you want to be holed up alone all day by yourself. You might instead prefer to satisfy your desire for socialization and interaction by spending less time commuting and more time having fun – as well as making your outgoing personality and people skills work for you while you are on the clock.

Some of the following remote options also lend themselves to the possibility of passive income, at least eventually. This is truly everyone’s dream!

Accordingly, here are some remote income ideas for extraverts:

Woman and man enjoying conversation while working together at a computer.

Videos and Podcasts

If writing is too solitary for you, and you prefer to just talk, you could make videos and podcasts.

These can be done on any subject that you’re knowledgeable about, and interested in. If so, there’s probably an audience out there for you – even if it’s a niche. That’s the beauty of the world wide web these days.

Customer Service

If you enjoy helping people solve problems and making them happy, and helping a business succeed by keeping customers coming back; customer service could be up your alley.

You could work remotely for a call center, answer chats, or respond to comments on social media posts.

Customer service positions don’t pay much on the low end. But there’s upward potential, such as management; and higher-end customer service positions. This work is critical to the success of businesses.

Park Ranger

If you love the outdoors, you love interacting with people, and you love sharing your passion for the outdoors with others; you might enjoy being a park ranger.

Some rangers are law enforcement – and basically, they are like police within a park.

If being the long arm of the law is not your thing, however, there are also interpretive rangers – the kind that give tours, teach visitors about the wilderness, and help visitors in need of assistance. They are called that because they interpret the science and history of the parks.

This kind of work isn’t remote, per se – but many people who want remote work really want to travel and be outdoors, and this kind of work is all about that.

Online Teaching

Even with the rising popularity of self-serve online courses, many people still benefit from live teaching, and the ability to ask their instructors questions in real time.

Interactive teaching could also satisfy your need for human interaction better than just creating a course.

If so, there is plenty of demand for interactive teachers and tutors online, in a wide variety of subject matters.

Consulting

Consultants can be experts in all kinds of subject matters. Many people become consultants late in their careers, when they want to start winding down and scaling back hours, but make a living from their longtime experience and wisdom.

However, people also become consultants at widely varying stages in their careers.

Consulting is a great way to work remotely, have a flexible schedule, and also have plenty of interaction with other people.

Sales

This is, of course, a classic career choice for gregarious, upbeat people.

And no, you don’t have to be pushy, intrusive, and use high-pressure tactics to be a successful in sales.

In fact, some of the most effective sales persons actually focus on solving people’s problems, and helping them; rather than pushing them into something that they don’t want to buy or sign up for.

This method not only helps build great customer relationships, but also keeps more referrals coming your way from happy customers. It pays to be viewed as someone people can turn to, and trust to help meet their needs.

If you’re extraverted and love people, and enjoy helping others, you could become a dynamic and successful sales person – including online.
