Office Ideas for Vans and RV’s
By Rachel Puryear
If you want to travel frequently while working remotely to support it, you’ll need to make some office space within your camper vehicle. Your needs might vary depending upon what you do for a living, but the following will show some ideas to create a mobile workspace as you roam around freely:

Desk
When it comes to a camper vehicle desk; things that come to mind are small, portable, and foldable.
Of course, if you’re already outfitted with a kitchen table or counters at a comfortable sitting height, you could have that double as your desk.
But maybe you’d like more flexibility – perhaps to work outside. Or, perhaps you’d like to have a dedicated space.
This lightweight, height-adjustable rolling desk table can easily move and fit in front of a couch, over your bed, or anywhere else you’d like to use it. You can leave things on it without it taking up a lot of space in your camper. Two wheels lock, so you can roll it or keep it steady.
Or, maybe you’d prefer a folding desk you can easily put away when you’re not using it. This two-tier folding desk is just enough space to work with, but small and light enough to not take up much space while you’re using it, and then to make it easy to slide away somewhere when you’re done with it. Super easy to move it around.
Chair and/or Cushion
You’ll need a place to sit while you’re working. Of course, you likely have a convenient place to sit – the problem being, though, that it likely leaves you with a sore butt after a while.
If that’s the case, try this luxuriously soft and cushy – yet supportive – waffle cushion to sit on. Your rear end will still feel great at the end of the day, and thank you. Got a big behind? Have no fear – so do we, and we love this cushion!
If you do want a separate office chair for your camper vehicle, though, here’s an ergonomic folding office chair, that’s friendly for a small space.
Plugs and Chargers
You’ll need a power source, and ways to charge all your devices. Here’s a surge protector power strip with a 6 foot (1.8m) cord – it has several 3 prong outlets, plus a variety of USB ports, and it’s nice and compact.
Storage
Need somewhere to neatly store all your office supplies? Including something that’s friendly to a moving or folding desk?
Here’s an organizer that stores all kinds of supplies, yet also fits over the back of your car seat with a minimal space footprint – and keeps them secure while you’re driving around.
Here’s another organizer that clamps onto the side of your table or desk, and stores a variety of supplies – the clamp keeps it securely in place even while driving, but it can also be easily removed or adjusted if needed for folding the desk later.
